We will review models that won’t cost you more than $450 and as price reference we shall share the price of the models available on newegg.com. With a bit of research, you’ll be able to find these laptops elsewhere for the same money or even cheaper than this.

We kick things off with the HP 630 (LV970UT#ABA) which will set you back $379.99. At the heart of this laptop is an Intel Pentium P6200 processor clocked at 2.13 GHz. It has 4GB of DDR3 1,333 MHz memory and a 320GB SATA hard drive spinning at 5,400 rpm. HP fitted this model with Intel HD Graphics and a 15.6-inch, LED-backlit, anti-glare, widescreen display that has a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels.

For $20 more you might want to have a look at the Toshiba Satellite C655-S5339 that has a second generation Intel Pentium B950 processor running at 2.10 GHz. This model is configured with 4GB of DDR3 memory working at 1,333 MHz and has a 320GB hard drive rotating at 5,400 rpm. Its 15.6-inch LED-backlit display benefits from the TruBrite technology and has a native 720p resolution. If you do a lot of typing, we recommend the Lenovo G570 (43349EU) which has an excellent keyboard. Available at newegg.com for $399.99, this model has a more powerful Intel Pentium B960 processor clocked at 2.20 GHz and comes with 4GB of DDR3 memory at 1,333 MHz. You will be able to store your files on the 500GB Serial Ata hard drive working at 5,400 rpm while in the video department it has the same integrated Intel HD Graphics. The 15.6-inch widescreen display is LED backlit and has a maximum resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels.

The Asus X54C-ES91 costs the same money as the Lenovo and has an Intel Pentium B950 processor. It is configured with 6GB of DDR3 memory and a 320GB SATA HDD that runs at 5,400 rpm. You get integrated Intel HD Graphics and a 15.6-inch display that has the same native 720p resolution as the rest of the laptops we’ve mentioned.

For those who need a more powerful processor, have a look at the Dell Vostro 469-1144 which costs $449.99. This one has a first-generation Core i3-370M CPU clocked at 2.40 GHz. In the memory department we find 3GB of DDR3 1,333 MHz while for storage it has a 250GB SATA hard drive running at 5,400 rpm. The GPU is an integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD while the 15.6-inch LED backlight TrueLife TFT display has a native 720p resolution.

Cheap 18-inch Laptops

By definition, these massive 18-inch laptops don’t come at an affordable price tag but if you do some serious comparison shopping you will find some models that will not cost you more than $2,000. In this article we will give you two examples of laptops that have an 18-inch display: the cheaper Acer Aspire AS8951G-9630 and the more expensive (and heavier) Dell Alienware M18x.

We kick things off with the Acer model which will set you back $1,349 if you decide to buy it from newegg.com, but probably you’ll find it at retailers near you. It has an Intel Core i7-2670QM processor running at 2.20 GHz (up to 2.90 GHz with TurboBoost) and 8GB of DDR3 memory at 1,066 MHz, upgradable up to 16GB. The 18.4-inch display has a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (full HD 1080p) and is LED backlight and benefits from the Acer CineCrystal technology.

In the GPU area this model is configured with a dedicated video card in the form of an Nvidia GeForce GT 555M with 2GB of DDR3 VRAM. For storage you get a 720 GB hard drive spinning at 5,400 rpm and the laptop also offers support for a second hard drive in case you run out of space to store your files.
